Hawthorn has signed Keegan Brooksby to a one-year rookie contract as part of the pre-season supplemental selection period (SSP), filling the Hawks final list spot for 2020.
GM- Football Graham Wright said Brooksby would add depth to the club’s ruck stocks.
“Keegan is a durable and high-quality state league player and has experience at the elite level,” Wright said.
“He’s a mature ruckman, known for his work rate and professionalism and we’re really happy to have him at the club.”
The 29-year-old has played 14 AFL games and was taken by the Gold Coast Suns with Pick 42 in the 2015 rookie draft.
His experience at senior level came in his five years at the Suns between 2014 and 2018, before the South Australian spent the 2019 season with West Coast.
The 198cm Brooksby came to the game later in life, making the switch from basketball to AFL at the age of 18.
