Hawthorn GM - Football Graham Wright has given an update on a quartet of injured Hawks.
Hawks rookie Will Golds was unfortunately the club's sad news story of the weekend with the 19-year-old injuring his knee in Box Hill's practice match against Casey on the weekend.
"Unfortunately it has been confirmed that Will has ruptured his ACL in the weekend's game," Wright confirmed.
"The one piece of encouraging news from it all is that it's the opposite knee to the one he did in his junior days.
"But it's obviously some really disappointing news for Will and we will support him throughout the recovery process."
Mitch Lewis' night finished early in the loss to Melbourne in Launceston on Friday night, with the key forward falling awkwardly on his ankle in a marking contest.
"Mitch had a badly sprained ankle on Friday night.
"He was walking around post-match but he will take his time in recovery and we will obviously be monitoring him closely in the next week or so."
Meanwhile fellow forward Jack Gunston is also making steps towards his return from ankle surgery.
"Jack trained this morning and he is progressing well.
"Whether he will be right for Round 1, we don't know."
Finally, Tim O'Brien is continuing his recovery from an eye injury.
"His eye was scratched in our second game against St Kilda in Morwell.
"We originally thought he would be available on the weekend but it has taken a bit longer to recover than we thought."
