As part of the #1 Fan program, the Hawks invited Meno Menelaou to the Ricoh Centre last week where he was lucky enough to meet the players and Coach, Alastair Clarkson.
A passionate Hawthorn member, Meno was involved in a serious car accident earlier this year, which tragically took the lives of his parents.
Meno was extremely lucky to survive this accident but it has been a long road to recovery.
After being contacted by a number of relatives and close friends, the Club arranged for him to pull on the #1 Fan guernsey for Round 18.
He was welcomed out to the Ricoh Centre where he was involved in training, met the players and had a chat with senior coach, Alastair Clarkson before watching the boys warm-up in the changerooms and on the ground before Saturday night’s blockbuster against Sydney Swans.
HawksTV followed Meno through his #1 Fan experience and spoke to him about his accident and what Hawthorn means to him.
