Shaun Burgoyne will play his 100th game for Hawthorn in Saturday’s blockbuster against Collingwood at the MCG.
A distinguished midfielder with Port Adelaide, Burgoyne has enjoyed much success since joining Hawthorn at the end of the 2009 season, following 157 matches with the Power between 2002-2009.
Since arriving at the Hawks, Burgoyne has expanded his role by spending time in defence, through the midfield and up forward where he has managed to impact matches and turn results in his team’s favour.
Burgoyne has become a fan favourite amongst Hawks fans for his ability to stand up in big games, namely last year’s Preliminary Final win over Geelong.

Of course season 2012 didn't end well for the Hawks, defeated by Sydney on Grand Final day. Burgoyne playing in his second Grand Final loss and is comforted by his wife, Amy in the rooms after the game.

He takes on a leadership role with his young Indigenous teammates, here he gets around youngster Jed Anderson who kicks an important goal in the Qualifying Final win over Sydney last year.

The day after he celebrated with his teammates and the Hawthorn faithful at Glenferrie Oval, the club's spiritual home.
This year he celebrated game 250 against the side in which he made his Hawthorn debut, Richmond.
Since joining Hawthorn he has become a key player in the club's community programs and has visited Katherine in the Northern Territory a number of times to spread the healthy lifestyle message and pass on his footy knowledge.
