HAWTHORN defender Ben Stratton won't play against GWS at the MCG on Sunday due to an adductor injury.

Stratton was named in the 22 to take on the Giants on Friday evening but was withdrawn on Saturday and replaced in the selected side by young defender, Angus Litherland.

Young midfielder Alex Woodward, who is yet to make his senior debut has replaced Litherland as an emergency for the match, joining Tim O'Brien and Will Langford as back-ups.

The Hawks will also be without ruckman Ben McEvoy (corked hamstring), who was injured and subbed out in last Saturday night's loss to Port Adelaide.
