Star Hawthorn midfielders Sam Mitchell and Isaac Smith won’t play against the Bulldogs today after being withdrawn late for the clash at Aurora Stadium.

The duo have been replaced by Will Langford and Taylor Duryea.

Mitchell didn’t travel with the team to Launceston on Saturday after suffering with the flu but was given every chance to play by the Hawks.

If available, Mitchell would have travelled to Tasmania this morning.

The Hawks were informed by Club medical staff this morning, however, that the midfielder would be unavailable.

Smith will miss with calf soreness after experiencing tightness at yesterday’s final training session.

Jonathan Simpkin is the sub for the Hawks in today’s game.

Young midfielder Billy Hartung is the other emergency.
