HAWTHORN will host a blockbuster clash against Fremantle in Tasmania in 2015.
The Hawks will again play four games at its second home, Aurora Stadium, including the replay of the 2013 Grand Final.
The meeting will be in Round 15, on Sunday 12 July at 3.20pm.
Tasmanian members and fans will also be treated to another clash against Gold Coast Suns at Aurora Stadium next year.
The Club can confirm it will face the Gary Ablett-led Suns in Round 9, on a Saturday afternoon at Aurora Stadium.
As was the case in 2014, the Hawks will also face up-and-coming teams Western Bulldogs (Round 3) and Brisbane Lions (Round 22) in Tasmania in 2015.
Hawthorn CEO Stuart Fox said he’s excited to see a mix of key matches against quality teams in Tasmania for 2015.
“We, the team, always love playing home games in Tasmania and are pleased to once again have some tough matches scheduled down south,” he said.
“I look forward to seeing all our Tassie family out in force in 2015.
“The 2015 fixture will see Hawthorn play a good spread of games from Round 3, against a building Western Bulldogs side, through until Round 22, where we play an emerging Brisbane Lions team.
“This means we will have a longer presence in Tasmania stretching from February until the end of August.”
The confirmation of the games to be played in Tasmania comes after the AFL revealed last week the Hawks will open season 2015 with a blockbuster clash against Geelong on Easter Monday.
The AFL also confirmed Hawthorn will play on ANZAC Day for the first time since 2010, when it travels to take on Port Adelaide in a night match at Adelaide Oval in Round 4 as part of the bumper five-game fixture on the day.
The four home-and-away matches in Tasmania for the Hawks will follow a blockbuster start to the pre-season at Aurora Stadium, with the Hawks set to face Collingwood in February to kick off the pre-season.
“Starting the football year in Tasmania against Collingwood is a huge highlight for our Tassie fans,” Fox said.
“This will be a big match for Aurora Stadium and draw a large crowd as well as great interest for all Tasmanian football fans and interstate visitors.”
