On Friday afternoon, Hawks players and coaches took a break from training in South Africa to visit the Oxfam project Women on Farms, an initiative that aims to assist women who wish to grow vegetables on farms to help feed their families.

The enthusiastic group spent over an hour on the farms learning about the women and their families and assisting them in harvesting their vegetables before heading to a Stellenbosch oval, where they met some disadvantaged children and taught them the game of AFL.

They played with the kids and showed them the art of kicking, handballing and marking and competed in some marking competitions with the youngsters.
