For the fourth consecutive year, Hawthorn Football Club is proud to acknowledge the battle of Kokoda at the Hawthorn v West Coast match on Friday 21 June.

Hawks players will have the special Kokoda logo on their guernseys.

Hawthorn captain Luke Hodge says the team is proud to once again acknowledge the battle of Kokoda.

“It means a lot to our playing group that we get to contest the Kokoda Game each year in memory of the battle of Kokoda," he said.

"Having completed the trek, we have seen firsthand the great work the Kokoda Track Foundation does in supporting the descendants of the ‘fuzzy wuzzy angels’ by assisting with their education and healthcare, as well as trying to protect their environment.”

The Club is proud to again partner with the Kokoda Track Foundation for this match, and is supporting the foundation’s current fundraising activity as they raise money to keep building their education programs across the track.
