Fans choose Hodge's goal as best of the year
Our fans have spoken. Luke Hodge's goal from the Round 17 win over Western Bulldogs has been chosen as the best goal of 2013.
hawthornfc.com.au gave fans the opportunity to vote on five brilliant goals as chosen by HawksTV to crown one the best of 2013, with Hodge's brilliant 55m bomb in Tasmania after stealing the ball from Ryan Griffen's foot named the best of the year.
Hodge's goal won with 39.3 per cent of the votes from the AFL Goal of the Year winner, Lance Franklin with 25.3 per cent of the votes.
Jack Gunston's goal against Geelong came in third (22 per cent), Cyril Rioli's soccer goal against Collingwood in fourth (8.1 per cent) and Sam Mitchell's great checkside goal against Greater Western Sydney in fifth (5.3 per cent)
