Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson will coach his 200th AFL match when Hawthorn plays West Coast Eagles this Friday night at Etihad Stadium.

Clarkson took on the role as senior coach of the Hawks at the end of 2004, following a two-year stint as an Assistant Coach at Port Adelaide.

He also had brief coaching roles at St Kilda, Werribee (VFL) and Central Districts (SANFL).

Now in his ninth year at the helm, Clarkson has coached Hawthorn to five finals series, winning a premiership in 2008.

He becomes the third man in Hawthorn’s history to coach 200 games at the Club, joining John Kennedy Senior (299 games between 1957, 1960-63 and 1967-76) and Allan Jeans (221 games between 1981-87 and 1989-90).

Clarkson was awarded AFL Life Membership in 2012.
