A group of Hawthorn players headed to Tassal - The Salmon Shop in Kew, Melbourne for a class in how to cook healthy salmon dishes at home.

Being an AFL player, keeping fit and eating healthy by preparing nutritious meals is as important as preparation for the game both in-season and during the off season.

Hawthorn players Cyril Rioli, Bradley Hill, Liam Shiels, Isaac Smith, Alex Woodward, Amos Frank, Angus Litherland and Jordan Kelly along with Club Dietician Simone Austin participated in a cooking class before putting their culinary skills to the test by making three different easy and tasty salmon dishes.

One of the resident Tassal chefs gives the players a quick lesson in how to coat and slice the salmon.

Youngster Alex Woodward is in charge of slicing the zucchini.

Cyril Rioli looks pretty comfortable, slicing the zucchini in two different ways.

Isaac Smith needs a bit of guidance, he looks to Jordan Kelly for instructions.

A pro in the kitchen is Liam Shiels. Look at the skills as he flips his salmon.

Youngster Bradley Hill refuses to take his eye off the salmon, it only needs to be in the pan for a minute or so.

Shiels takes the HawksTV microphone and shares a laugh over the finished product with Hill.

Rioli takes a look at one of the Tassal cook books for more tasty salmon recipes.

The lighty coated salmon after it had been seared in the pan.

The finished product. Looks delicious, the boys did a great job.
