WILL Langford, the son of Hawthorn great Chris will make his debut for Hawthorn on Saturday against the Bulldogs.

A rookie-listed player at the start of the season, Langford was upgraded to the senior list in place of injured star Matt Suckling in June.

He replaces the suspended Shaun Burgoyne is Hawthorn’s side to take on Western Bulldogs at Aurora Stadium on Saturday.

Langford is a defender who has continued to develop his game since being rookie-listed by the Hawks under the NSW Scholarship scheme in 2011.

At 187cm, Langford has built a reputation at Hawthorn as being a player who never shirks at the contest and plays a high intensity brand of football.

Recently, he has enjoyed more time up the ground and had one of his best games for Box Hill against Werribee in Round 11.

In that game Langford gathered 22 possessions, had eight inside 50s and a game-high eight clearances.

Midfielder Brad Sewell, omitted for last week’s game against the Power has been named as an emergency.
