Hawks break membership record
Hawthorn Football Club is pleased to announce it has broken the Club’s membership record for the sixth consecutive season, today eclipsing last year’s total of 60,841.
Hawthorn’s membership has more than doubled across the last seven seasons. In 2006, the Club’s total stood at 28,003.
Chief Executive Stuart Fox was delighted to confirm the news, crediting loyal supporters with the milestone.
“To break the Club’s membership record for the sixth consecutive season is a significant achievement, and reinforces the incredible support and loyalty we receive from the Hawthorn faithful,” Fox said.
“With the team 5-1, and with five home games in Melbourne and three in Launceston remaining, it’s an exciting time to be part of the Club and we encourage all supporters who are yet to sign-up to get on board and secure their seat,” he said.
To celebrate this major achievement, the Membership team has anointed life-time member Marjorie Flegg this week’s No.1 Fan.
Marjorie, 84 years old, will receive an inner-sanctum experience at Friday’s training session, and will be presented with a No.80 guernsey to represent her 80 years of consecutive membership.
The Club’s HawksNest online store is currently offering 25% off all stock until midday on Saturday to acknowledge the membership milestone.
With eight home games (five in Melbourne and three in Launceston) and three replacement games (Rounds 10, 15 and 20) remaining, Hawks membership packages are still available, including 3-game membership packages from $85.
