Match-day charity – Give Me Five for Kids

Give Me Five for Kids improves the lives of Tasmanian children by raising much-needed funds for the children’s wards of the Launceston General and Royal Hobart hospitals. The initiative is the major annual fundraiser for Southern Cross Austereo in Tasmania, encompassing Southern Cross Television, Heart 107.3 FM and Sea FM Hobart.

Every cent raised goes directly to supporting Tasmanian children and their families at a time they need it most. There are absolutely no administration fees. The GM54K campaign culminates with a statewide telethon on Southern Cross Television on June 25. Last year our events raised more than $320,000.

The ‘Wheelie Bin Walk’ is one of those events.  An army of volunteers come together, marching through the streets of Launceston and gathering money in wheelie bins as they go. The journey ends at Tasmania’s biggest sporting stadium, Aurora Stadium this Saturday 18 May. You can donate your loose change to Give Me Five for Kids at any entrance to the stadium.

By donating, you are directly improving the lives of Tasmania’s sick children.

Keep an eye out for other upcoming GM54K fundraising activities and don’t miss the telethon on Southern Cross on June 25. Through your support, our hospitals are able to purchase much-needed equipment and allow kids the chance to get back on their feet sooner.
