For a second consecutive week, Hawthorn's senior side has emerged from its game unscathed with no injuries to report from our win over Richmond.

Wingman Ricky Henderson received a knock in the third quarter of the game against the Tigers but Physical Performance Manager Luke Boyd said Henderson will be available for the clash against North Melbourne.

The news wasn't as positive for young Hawk Mat Walker who injured his ankle in a scratch match against Richmond's reserves last Thursday.

"Unfortunately Mat has come down on his ankle in a marking contest in the scratch match," Boyd said.

"It was quite early in the game, which is a shame because he had strung together a really strong training block upon return.

"It is a low-grade syndesmosis injury so we do need to respect it - he will be unavailable this week and we will re-assess next week."

Despite Walker's injury, Boyd said the scratch match was an important component of conditioning for those not selected in the senior side.

"The scratch match went well and they're really, really important for us because we need to get as much match-based conditioning as we can into those players who will be the next ones into the senior team.

"We ended up playing a 14v14 against Richmond which was a really strong, challenging hit-out.

"We got some valuable match minutes and some valuable game-based run into our players there last Thursday."
