Big goal from Gunston
Jack Gunston was among Hawthorn's best players on Sunday, having settled nicely back into the forward line. He finished with three goals - none more impressive that this pinpoint set shot from outside the 50 arc. The commentary team were almost ready to rule him out, but Gunston proved his critics wrong as he's done so many times before.
Another Day, another impressive play
If there is anything keeping Hawks fans in high spirits after the results from the past fortnight, it would have to be the emergence of young defender Will Day. The 19-year-old was voted this week's Most Valuable Player by the Hawthorn faithful in just his second AFL game. A piece of play in the dying seconds of the second quarter demonstrated Day's innate ability to take the game on and show no fear; he took an impressive contested mark, before selling candy to his opponent and sending the ball deep inside 50. Keep your eye on this young man.
Morris magic
While much of the talk has been about his draft-mate Day, Josh Morris has been quietly acquitting himself on the big stage, and doing a damn good job. While his fourth quarter tackle on Jack Viney could have easily made this list of moments, there's nothing more heart-warming than watching a young footballer nail his first goal. This gather and snap from a tight angle demonstrated his class - an absolute ripper.
