Jarryd Roughead and Lance Franklin have both been nominated for the Origin AFL Goal of the Year for their outstanding goals against Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Sunday.
Roughead flew for the mark initially and when the ball spilled to the ground, he was the first to recover. He was the first to reach the loose ball and without much thinking time soccered the ball through on the full from the impossible angle.

Franklin got himself in to a spot of bother jammed up against the boundary line and tried to baulk back inside his defender. That avenue to goal was quickly closed down, so he ducked back outside and looked to kick long. In the process, he forced the defender to overcommit and with minimal space fired a long-range goal from well outside 50.
