The Hawks hit the track for their first open training session of 2012 at the Ricoh Centre today, with fans swamping the concourse to catch their favourite players in action.

Hawks fans shared their insights from training, along with their thoughts on the season ahead with HawksTV.

Players braved the temperamental Melbourne weather as they practiced their ball skills, tested their strength, and conducted match practice. 

Injury rehabilitating players Jarryd Roughead and Stephen Gilham also joined the playing group for the majority of the session.

The Hawks will hold their next open training session at the Ricoh Centre at 8.30am on Friday 20 January.

The players then head to Tasmania for the Club’s 2012 Community Camp from 7 - 9 February.



Fans got to see the entire 2012 playing list in action for the first time, including 2011 recruit Amos Frank.


Fans shared their excitement with HawksTV at seeing Jarryd Roughead and Stephen Gilham participate in the majority of the session.


Fans predicted to HawksTV that ruckman Max Bailey (pictured with David Hale) will have a strong 2012 season.
