Over 47 days Hawks Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson will share his thoughts on each player on the Hawthorn list - from guernsey number 48 to 2.

What Clarko says

34. Jordan Kelly

The feedback to-date for our summer series - counting down through our Hawks’ playing list - has been great; obviously our supporters are looking forward to a tremendous season 2012.

Your coaches and players are in the midst of pre-season training, and amongst those giving it their all is young Jordan Kelly.

Jordan Kelly was recruited to the Club in the 2012 National Draft. Jordan played his footy at the Dandenong Stingrays spending most of his time in defense.

In his short time that he’s been with us, Jordan has demonstrated a great appetite to play footy at the highest level, and his transition into our Club has been seamless to-date.

He’s been first-class with his application and he has been able to complete a lot of the training.

We think that this lad has got the characteristics to be a long-term player for our footy Club.

We’re hoping Jordan will feature prominently at Box Hill throughout the year and we would hope that at some point he will challenge the senior side for selection.

He does need to add a bit of bulk to his frame - he’ll play mainly in a key back position - he’s a Stephen Gilham type player.

Jordan uses the ball well and he’s got a real thirst to improve so we’re expecting him to be a great addition to the squad. We really look forward to his progress over the next couple of seasons.

Tomorrow we’ll feature Cyril Rioli which I’m sure will excite many Hawthorn supporters, so head back to hawthornfc.com.au to show your support for the Hawks in preparation for season 2012.
