Guests joined the 1961 team to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the Club’s first premiership at the Gold’n Brown Jubilee on Thursday 25 August.

Held at the picturesque Leonda by the Yarra, the 1961 team were reunited over a lunch while MC and Hawthorn great Peter Knights interviewed the likes of ’61 premiership coach John Kennedy Snr, captain Graham Arthur and media personality  Graham 'Smokey' Dawson.

A lucky lifelong Hawks supporter Geoff Davidson was also a part of the interviews which saw the speaker share their own stories and special memories from the Hawks' first premiership in 1961.

A wonderful sense of joy filled the dining room as the 1961 premiership players finally received their Premiership Medal in a ceremony presented by Peter Knights and Hawks President Jeff Kennett.

It was a moving tribute to those who set the foundation for the success that Hawthorn Football Club has experienced over the last 50 years.
