A DAY after his second driving incident in three weeks, Lance Franklin will help conduct a driver education session for the entire Hawthorn playing group.

Franklin made contact with a road trauma education group after losing his licence for six months in July.

On Monday night he was involved in car accident, where another driver required treatment for an arm injury, before being taken to the Alfred Hospital.

The incident is understood to have happened with Franklin behind the wheel.

Franklin has arranged for Norm Robinson to speak to his teammates on Tuesday afternoon.

Robinson will address the Hawks at 2pm, and educate the group on the dangers of driving.

Robinson lost his son Luke in 2010 after he was involved in a fatal crash, and now conducts face-to-face road trauma sessions.

"Buddy got in contact with me on the Monday after he was caught speeding, and asked me to come out and give a talk to the entire playing group," Robinson said.

Franklin is in line to return to the Hawks team to take on Port Adelaide in Tasmania on Sunday after missing the last four games with a hamstring injury.

The Hawks said Franklin was not injured in Monday's accident.

"Lance Franklin has informed the club he was involved in a vehicle accident earlier this evening," the statement on hawthornfc.com.au said on Monday.

"Lance is shaken but has not sustained injury in the accident, while the driver of the other vehicle involved has been treated for an arm injury."

The accident comes less than three weeks after Franklin's licence was suspended after he was caught driving at 90km/h in a 50km/h zone.

Franklin's licence was suspended for six months.

At the time of the incident, a Victoria Police spokesman told AFL.com.au a 25-year-old had lost his driver's licence for six months for speeding in Brighton East yesterday.

"Moorabbin highway patrol members conducting laser duties in Hodder St, Brighton East intercepted a 25-year-old man just before 2pm yesterday (Thursday, July 19) travelling at an alleged speed of 90 km/h in a 50 km/h zone," the  spokesman said.

"The Brighton East driver was issued with a penalty notice of $599 ,which includes a six month licence suspension and a loss of six demerit points."

The licence cancellation period is due to commence 28 days after the issue of the original infringement.
