This week's #1 Fan is Declan Fay, a 12-year member and life-long Hawthorn supporter.
Declan combines his love for the Hawks and his comedic talents on the Hawks' official podcast, with fellow comedian, Lehmo - Hawks-Cast with Lehmo and Dec.
A committed Hawks fan, Dec attended his first Hawthorn match way back in 1987, when the Hawks took on West Coast at Subiaco. Unfoirtunately for Dec, that day, the Hawks succumbed to the Eagles by one-point.
When it comes to his favourite Hawks of all time, he finds it extremely difficult to split the great Dermott Brereton and Shane Crawford.
When asked to name his favourite current-day player, however, his response was an emphatic, "it's got to be Cyril".
Dec's favourite Hawthorn possession is a signed and framed poster of Allan Jeans and Michael Tuck from 1989.
He believes that three-time club champion Sam Mitchell can win a fourth Peter Crimmins Medal at the end of the 2012 season, as the Hawks' best and fairest player over the course of the year.
Each week, one special Hawks fan is selected by the Club to pull on the No.1 guernsey and help the team prepare for the upcoming game.
At the final training session for the week, the #1 Fan runs water on the oval amongst the players and coaches in what can best be described as a football safari experience - seeing the players up close in their own environment taking part in drills and fine tuning their skills for the weekend’s game.
The #1 Fan also joins the huddle at the end of training for a pep talk from Clarko and the boys, gets a group photo with the playing squad and has the opportunity to meet their favourite players out on the ground.
Each #1 Fan receives their very own 2012 guernsey with #1 printed on the back to denote their special place in the side.
In 2011, Max Bailey presented his #1 guernsey to Hawks fans at the Club’s annual Family Day, signifying the beginning of the Club's #1 Fan program.
