The prestigious Harvard Business School turned brown and gold on Thursday in celebration of Australia Day.

How did this unusual event occur?

General Manager - Football Operations Mark Evans is currently at the school, attending one of Harvard's renowned executive management programs. The trip is set to benefit the overall operations of the Hawthorn Football Club. While studying, Evans has converted more than 80 prominent international business men and women into fledgling Hawks supporters.

As part of the celebrations course participants and professors sampled Australian treats including Vegemite, Violet Crumbles and Tim Tams. The group spent the afternoon learning about Buddy, Cyril, Mitch and Hodgey as well as Alastair Clarkson's big plans to win the "Aussie Superbowl" this season.

Evans was impressed with the keen level of interest shown towards the mighty Hawks by the Harvard attendees.

"The group was very interested in our sport and particularly in the Hawks. It wouldn't surprise me if a number of them continued to follow Hawthorn from here. It might even result in sponsorship or other opportunity somewhere in the future."
