Over 47 days Hawks Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson will share his thoughts on each player on the Hawthorn list - from guernsey number 48 to 2.

What Clarko says

41. Taylor Duryea

Welcome to the eighth day of my summer series, today I feature Taylor Duryea who'll wear the number 41 guernsey again in season 2012.

Taylor is coming into his third year on our list. He's been hampered with injury in his time at Hawthorn which has curtailed his development thus far.

What we like about Taylor is his uncanny ball sense, being able to win the footy and do some pretty special things with it. Unfortunately his struggle to maintain physical durability means he hasn't been able to get himself on the park as much as we'd have liked.

We want to try and get his body right over summer, if he can do a full pre-season we think that will hold him in good stead to have a ripping 2012. He had an operation just prior to the end of the 2011 season - we finished him up early so we could get his body right so he could have a full summer's crack at it. His preseason endeavour to date has been first class

We think if he can put together week-to-week training and then back-to-back games throughout 2012 then at some point in time he's gonna emerge as a player who can represent the brown and gold with distinction. That'll all depend on his body and if he can withstand the rigors of the game. Again, we have high hopes that a good summer will enable him to produce his best footy in 2012.

From 41 to 40, tomorrow I'll share my thoughts on recent Rookie addition Broc McCauley.
