Hawthorn's Most Consistent Player in 2011 Josh Gibson has signed a contract extension with the Hawks which will see him remain with the Club until the end of the 2014 season.

HawksTV grabbed a word with the reliable defender first just moments after his contract renewal.

"I'm very excited that the Club wants to keep me that long," Gibson told HawksTV.

"We've got a young and positive list and hopefully we can take it a few steps further than the 2011 season."
