Tassie Hawks break membership record
Tassie Hawks members have signed up in big numbers for season 2012, breaking the Club’s previous Tasmanian membership record of 8,495...
With the Club preparing to play the first of four home matches at Aurora Stadium this Sunday, the Hawthorn Football Club is pleased to announce that Tassie Hawks memberships ticked over 8,526 today.
It’s the fifth consecutive year the Club has recorded growth in Tasmanian-based memberships, a result which thrilled Hawthorn CEO, Stuart Fox.
“The Tasmanian community has really embraced the Club over the past decade and provided Hawthorn with a strong home-away-from-home,” he said.
“In 2002, the Club’s first year of playing home games in Tassie, Hawthorn had 2,055 members, we now have more than four-times that number. It’s a terrific result for both the Club and Tasmania.”
Fox said Hawthorn is focused on continuing to build its supporter base in Tasmania.
“Tassie Hawks members are such an important part of our membership base and the Club thanks them for showing their support,” he said.
“But there are still many supporters in Tassie who are yet to sign up or renew their memberships. I encourage them to get on board now and utilise the four home games Hawthorn plays at Aurora Stadium this year.”
Hawthorn also surpassed its overall greatest membership figure of 56,224 earlier this month and is pushing for its campaign milestone of 60,000 members.
