Scans today confirmed a tear to Beau Muston's anterior cruciate graft in his left knee.

Muston left the field during the first quarter of Saturday’s pre-season semi-final against the Adelaide Crows at AAMI Stadium.

The promising midfielder had previously undergone reconstructive surgery in 2005 in his final year of the TAC Cup before being picked up by Hawthorn with their second round pick, number 22 overall, in the 2005 National Draft.

Although Muston was training following the initial knee reconstruction further medical examination showed signs that the graft and screws had loosened slightly and it was decided that the graft should be replaced through additional surgery.

The young Hawk now faces another period of rehabilitation and the Club will continue to support Muston in his quest to make a full recovery.
