Over 47 days Hawks Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson will share his thoughts on each player on the Hawthorn list - from guernsey number 48 to 2.

What Clarko says

21. Shane Savage

Thanks for checking back to hawthornfc.com.au for our summer series analysing our playing list from number 48 to number 2 - your feedback and comments have been great and I'm looking forward to reading what you've got to say about our analysis for today.

Today we feature Shane Savage who will wear the number 21 guernsey in season 2012.

Shane was recruited by the Hawks from the Dandenong Stingrays' under 18s side in 2008.

He's now completed three seasons since grabbing our attention in some senior games at the Box Hill Hawks.

Shane is a player we think will cement his spot in our side in the year to come.

He's played some pretty exciting footy, particularly in season 2011, where he emerged as a really handy wingman who could come forward and kick goals, and that's a feature of his that we've enjoyed since his junior footy days.

He's got great speed and carries the ball well; he also penetrates well with his feet too. We're expecting that along with a number of other players who were drafted in the same year that he will feature in a successful side in our years ahead.

Tomorrow's feature is focussed on David Hale who will wear the number 20 guernsey.

We recruited David from the North Melbourne Kangaroos, he's spent the past 12 months with us and we're hoping that he'll continue to play some consistent footy for us in 2012.
