During the month of February the Hawthorn Football Club supported a new charity that raises funds to assist Australia’s youth alcohol and other drugs service sector.

FebFast encourages people to take a break from their alcohol consumption during the shortest month of the year, and at the same time raise funds to help services that support young people with substance abuse problems.

FebFast was supported by sixteen Hawks players, who signed up to generate sponsorship. The players remained alcohol free during the month of February to assist with their preparations for the 2008 Premiership Season.

With the support of the Hawthorn Football Club and other organisations FebFast, in their first year, managed to raise total of $259,241.
