Over 47 days Hawks Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson will share his thoughts on each player on the Hawthorn list - from guernsey number 48 to 2.

What Clarko says

12. Brad Sewell

Our summer series analysing the 2012 playing list continues today as we feature Brad Sewell, who will wear guernsey number 12 in season 2012.

Sewelly has been a real success story for our Club.

Having come off the rookie list, he’s now emerged as a pivotal player in the way we as a team go about our footy.

He’s really tough and resilient and loves to get his hands dirty - he’s also very respected by his teammates and opponents in the way he goes about his game.

Sewelly’s great strengths are his ball-winning ability and his capacity to play on influential opposition midfielders and negate their influence on the game, while also providing us with great drive going forward.

He forms part of a midfield group together with guys like Sam Mitchell, Luke Hodge and Jordan Lewis that is known for being hard and tough, and these attributes are the reason he won a best and fairest at our Club and why he was a part of our 2008 premiership side.

Sewelly is about to embark on a season that will see him play his 150th game, which is a great milestone, and one that stamps him as a player of significance of the Hawthorn Football Club.

We look forward to the contribution he will make to our team this year, as we strive to climb the ladder and give the players in our team the opportunity to achieve premiership glory.

Tomorrow we feature Clinton Young who will wear the number 11 guernsey in 2012.

He's had a few injury riddled-seasons so we're looking forward to him getting out on the park more regularly in season 2012.
