Shaun Burgoyne has been charged with rough conduct for his tackle on Sydney's James Rowbottom.
The incident occurred during the third quarter of Hawthorn's Round 8 loss to the Swans, and was assessed as careless conduct, low impact and high contact.
It was classified as a $2500 sanction as a second offence, however he can accept a $1500 sanction with an early plea.
Burgoyne will be available to take on the Blues this Friday night at Optus Stadium.
