Jaeger O’Meara faces a race against the clock to prove his fitness if he’s to have a chance of playing against Adelaide on Tuesday night.
“Jaeger’s made some good progress in the last three to four days and has actually started handling the footballs,” Physical Performance Manager Luke Boyd said.
“Whether that means he’ll get there for Tuesday’s game, we’re not sure.
“We’ll need to assess that over the next day or so, but he is making progress and we’re hoping he’ll be back in the team sooner rather than later.”
Meanwhile, Jonathon Patton is in good spirits after scans confirmed the positive news that there is no damage to his achilles.
“It’s the best I’ve ever felt after an injury,” Patton said on Saturday.
“I did think the worst at the start… but luckily the scans showed it was the plantaris tendon which is great news.
“We’ll let the bleeding settle down, then just go by how I feel.”
James Sicily (ACL) and Ricky Henderson have both completed their respective surgeries and are in the early stages of recovery.
