Tim O’Brien maintained his spot in the senior side for all bar one game this year, his best return yet after eight seasons in the brown and gold.
The sole game he sat out was the Round 8 loss to Sydney as he dealt with an ankle injury.
Sharing his time between forward and ruck duties, O’Brien played an important role for the Hawks in 2020 as long-time sole ruckman Ben McEvoy transitioned to a role as a key defender.
The 26-year-old’s finish to the year was especially impressive, hitting the scoreboard in six of the last seven games.
His contested marking was also a feature during this period, averaging 1.7 contested grabs per game.
