Hawthorn has taken Jack Saunders with Pick 4 in the 2020 rookie draft.
Playing with Norwood in the SANFL's U18 competition this year, Saunders proved one of the league's most exciting talents with his line-breaking speed and knack around goals.
A powerful midfielder who is capable of hitting the scoreboard when forward, the 180cm South Australian is a reliable user with ball in hand.
Playing nine games for the Redlegs this year, Saunders averaged 24.8 disposals, 5.3 marks, 6.6 tackles and just shy of a goal per game.
Recruiters have also admired the on-baller's work ethic throughout the 2020 season.
The 18-year-old rounds out Hawthorn’s draft class of 2020, joining Denver Grainger-Barras, Seamus Mitchell, Connor Downie and Tyler Brockman in the brown and gold.
