Hawthorn's top draftee Denver Grainger-Barras says he can't wait to play alongside James Sicily but there may be one issue between the pair.
Taken by the Hawks with Pick 6 on Wednesday night's draft, Grainger-Barras said Sicily was a player he had modelled his game on this year.
"He is one of my favourite players in the AFL today, the way he attacks the footy, he is an amazing player to watch so to be able to be at the same club as him is a huge honour," Grainger-Barras told SEN on Thursday.
"He messaged me after the draft and I was so grateful to have a quick hello and he was saying he is excited for us to come over.
"I told him I'd probably have to fight him for some sunscreen given we're both a bit paler so we will have to have a battle there!"
The Swan Districts product said he was relieved the drafting process was over after a year filled with speculation on where he would land.
"It's been a long couple of weeks and, as the time ticked closer, the hours felt a lot longer so I'm extremely happy that that is all over in a sense.
"And now being at Hawthorn, it is an amazing feeling."
