Hawthorn has placed an emphatic "full stop" on a successful pre-season with a visit to the bushfire-affected town of Buchan.
The squad returned to Buchan, some 350kms east of Melbourne, for an overnight camp which saw the players and coaches supporting the local community whilst also taking the opportunity to affirm their vales ahead of the 2021 campaign.
The entire football department also greeted Alastair Clarkson as he completed his 330km run/ride from Corryong to Buchan on Monday night, a challenge the coach set himself in an effort to shine a spotlight on the ongoing impacts of the bushfires.
Clarkson also wanted to use the ride to portray his willingness to get his hands dirty and work hard to set the tone for the upcoming season.
The playing group then had a light skills session on Tuesday.
