It’s set to be a huge weekend for the brown and gold; not only will the AFL side be contesting the Beyond Blue Cup against the undefeated Demons, but Hawks fans will also have two big state league games to enjoy.
The action kicks off with the Hawthorn women taking on the Casey Demons at Box Hill City Oval on Saturday 16 April at 11.30am.
In exciting news, Kristy Stratton will make her brown and gold return, re-joining the Hawks fresh off another AFLW campaign with Collingwood. Stratton last donned the brown and gold jumper in the Hawks’ inaugural season in 2017, before being drafted to the Pies later that year.
Stratton is one of five inclusions in Saturday’s Round 7 team, joined by the returning Kristen Hay, Tilly Hardy, Chloe Bain and Sophie Bolding.
The match will mark the first meeting between these two sides in 2021. The Hawks will be hungry for the four points, following a heart-breaking loss against the Bombers last week, however will have their work cut out for them against the sixth-placed Demons.
