Hawthorn Coach Alastair Clarkson said he was proud of his side's ability to "find a way" following its three-point win over Adelaide at University of Tasmania Stadium on Sunday.
The Hawks trailed by as much as 32 points midway through the third quarter before a fast finish saw them clinch a stirring victory.
"I would have liked it to have been a bit easier than the way the game unfolded but we can't be too choosy with the way things are unfolding for us at the moment, we're just happy to get the win," Clarkson said.
"We had a few really good parts of our game today and then there's some passages, especially in the second quarter, that let us down.
"It was an unusual game though, for a team to kick 10 goals in a quarter and only six for the rest of the game says that we should be really pleased with three quarters.
"But we just gave up too much scoreboard ascendancy to them in the first half."

With Adelaide's three-pronged key forward attack combining for 10 goals, Clarkson conceded the height of Taylor Walker, Riley Thilthorpe and Elliott Himmelberg challenged the Hawks defence at times.
"Part of our challenge today was due to the selection of the sides as well, they went with three tall forwards which they hadn't played all year.
"They went taller than we expected them to and that caused us a lot of grief."
