AFL: Hawks pull off stunning come from behind victory
Half way through the third term, you’d have been forgiven for believing the Hawks were down and out against the Crows, facing a 32-point deficit against a side who registered 16 goals in the opening two and a half quarters, with only the one blemish.
However, an inspired fight back, led by Jaeger O’Meara in the engine room, saw the Hawks regain control and six goals six in the second half, compared to their opponent’s 2.1.
Young Jacob Koschitzke made his mark, with his five goal performance earning the attention of fans and locking in MVP honours for Round 6.

Emerson Jeka continued his impressive run of form, booting five goals for the home side as he continues to put together a case for senior selection.

VFLW: Elation as a veteran chalks up 250
It was a huge day for Hawthorn veteran Meg Hutchins, with the defender chalking up her 250th combined AFLW, VFLW and VWFL game.
The team fittingly celebrated Hutchins ahead of the match, lauding their spiritual leader in the pre-game pep up and with the return of an on-field banner.
The match result also continued the celebrations for the games’ stalwart, with the Hawks pulling off their second win of the season – a 16-point victory over Williamstown.
