The VFLW Hawks celebrated a definitive win on Sunday against Williamstown.
It was a picture-perfect day for the girls, as they also honoured the milestone game for Captain Meg Hutchins. She played her 250th match, celebrating a long and successful career.
Coach Bec Goddard had lots to smile about and named her stand-outs from the match.

“We set the challenge to Soph to tag one of Williamstown’s best players and she just did the job so well and had a massive impact for the team. She was really dedicated to her task and was a massive reason why we got the win today.”

“What can you say about the old girl in her 250th? I’m just so happy for her, and 250 for Meg is probably equivalent to about 500 in the men’s world. It’s really hard to play for 250 games in women’s football because our seasons are shorter and because of a whole heap of other reasons that stop you from achieving. Meg’s never been stopped; in fact, she just blows adversity in the face which I love about her.”
Dom Carbone
“Dom’s tackling pressure in the forward 50 is just a real highlight for the team at the moment. She creates opportunities for others as a consequence of that and kicked a goal herself, so it was another great game for her.”

“She didn’t lose a one-on-one contest all day. She is the definition of consistency for our team at the moment and that’s Jenna.”

“Chloe really brought the fight. We talk each week about how big is our fight to win and what are you going to do to fight. Chloe Bain is just so aggressive with the footy and in the air is really imposing. It was one of her best games today.”
