Rising Star nominee Jacob Koschitzke is determined to ensure his stellar performance against Adelaide is not simply a flash in the pan this season.

Koschitzke booted five goals in a match-winning performance as the Hawks triumphed over the Crows by three points at University of Tasmania Stadium on Sunday.

The 20-year-old key forward said he appreciated the reward for effort that the nomination brought, but added he was certainly not going to rest on his laurels after his strong outing.

Why Clarko would suggest a week is a long time in footy

“It’s obviously nice to be recognised for the work that I’ve done behind the scenes," Koschitzke said.

“But it’s only really been one game.

“I want to build a block of work where it’s consistently two or three goals each week rather than five and then ones here and there.

“So, it’s nice to be recognised but there’s certainly still lots of games to work on."
