Hawthorn will be hopeful of regaining Shaun Burgoyne ahead of its Round 11 Sir Doug Nicholls Round clash against Gold Coast.
Burgoyne, who has missed the last four games due to an ankle injury, will need to get through Hawthorn's main training session on Thursday to determine his availability for Saturday night's clash in Darwin.
The Hawks will be without Jaeger O'Meara, with the midfielder ruled out due to the AFL's concussion protocols following a heavy knock late in Hawthorn's Round 10 loss to Carlton.
On a positive note, the Hawks should regain a trio of young talents following the Round 12 bye, with Will Day (ankle), Denver Grainger-Barras (knee) and Lachie Bramble (hamstring) each closing in on a return to full fitness.
"We've had some good progress over the last couple of weeks with Denver, Will and Lachie," Physical Performance Manager Luke Boyd said.
"Denver's been back in the ball program for two weeks now, so we're anticipating that he'll be ready to go that week after the bye,
"Lachie started skills today with the group for the first time, and again we think he'll be available in that first week after the bye.
"Will also had his first skills session with the group. He looked really good out there, his movement was great in the session and he's pulled up well, which is really positive.
"From here, he'll build up his loads in the bye week, and we anticipate he'll be able to play some footy in the first couple of weeks post the bye."
