They've served their suspensions and now they're ready to give the Hawks a valuable boost.

James Worpel and Kyle Hartigan are set to make their returns to the Hawthorn 22 this weekend as the side prepares to take on GWS at the MCG on Sunday.

Following a hit on Blue Sam Walsh, Hartigan has missed the last three games for the Hawks while Worpel spent last week on the sidelines after he was charged for a dangerous tackle in the win over the Swans.

Prior to their respective suspensions, Hartigan and Worpel had played every game.

As for those pushing their case via the VFL, Finn Maginness and Ollie Hanrahan are the two names that have pressed their claims for senior selection following Box Hill's comprehensive victory over Essendon on Sunday.

Maginness caught Coach Sam Mitchell's eye on the weekend, effectively executing a run-with role whilst also having a notable offensive impact of his own.

Given the job on Bombers skipper Joe Atley, the 20-year-old Maginness limited the dynamic inside midfielder to just 13 disposals. whilst recording 14 touches, a team-high six clearances and two goals himself.

It was an effort Mitchell considered best on ground.

Hanrahan was also considered amongst the side's top performers, collecting 27 disposals, seven inside 50s, five marks and a goal.

The 22-year-old Hanrahan has made eight senior appearances in 2021, highlighted by a 14-possession, two-goal performance against Melbourne in Round 5, which fans voted him their MVP.
