Matt Hill joined the Hawks as a Category B Rookie following the 2024 season. The 20-year-old comes across to the brown and gold following a stint with the Melbourne Storm Academy where he impressed with his speed and resilience. Hill reunites with the sport for the first time since he was 16 when he used to balance playing for the Broncos Academy and Yeppoon Swans in Queensland. He has incredible family ties, with relations to Brad Hill, Bobby Hill, Toby Bedford, Jy Farrar, Ash Johnson, Shane McAdam, the Pickett family and the Garlett family. Hill is also a proud Ballardong, Wardandi, Gajerrong and Bunuba man.
