Calsher Dear joined Hawthorn after being selected with Pick 56 in the 2023 national draft. Dear is the son of late Hawthorn premiership player and 1991 Norm Smith medallist Paul. The 19-year-old had a debut season to remember, suiting up for 17 games and kicking 25 majors. Dear also earned a Rising Star nomination in Round 23 after booting three goals in the club’s 63-point win over Richmond at the MCG.
