Hawthorn’s first Irish AFLW signing has made a big impact in her two seasons so far with back-to-back top 10 finishes in the club’s best and fairest, including a runner-up finish in 2022. Initially recruited to the AFLW by North Melbourne in 2019, Gilroy also secured two top 10 finishes in their best and fairests while mainly playing as a defender. Before taking up Australian Rules, the 30-year-old represented the Republic of Ireland in both Gaelic Football and Association Football, highlighting her expertise across multiple sports.
