Hawthorn star Tom Mitchell is set to finish the 2021 season on a high when he plays his 150th game against Richmond at the MCG on Saturday.
The 2018 Brownlow Medallist and two-time Peter Crimmins Medallist has forged a decorated career during his time in the brown and gold after arriving at the club from Sydney in 2016.
Mitchell has had an outstanding 2021 season, two years on from the badly broken leg which wiped out his 2019 campaign.
Clarko and Silk: "We've both been very fortunate"
But the 28-year-old was coy about celebrating the milestone - which also coincides with Coach Alastair Clarkson's and teammate Shaun Burgoyne's final outings at Hawthorn.
"To be honest, I think the game is more about Shauny and Clarko," Mitchell said.
"Obviously it's Shauny's last game for the club, and Clarko has been such an awesome coach as well.
"It's a funny feeling, I don't want any of the spotlight, it's kind of embarrassing to have a milestone in this game."
Mitchell sits first in the league for disposals this year having racked up 718 disposals - an average of 34 per game - leading a peloton of Jack Macrae (714), Ollie Wines (672) and Zach Merrett (667).
Arguably his best game came in Round 21 when he amassed 44 possessions, 10 marks and eight clearances and a goal to help the Hawks to a 19-point victory over Collingwood.
He has collected 30 or more disposals across 14 games this season, and in four games racked up above 40 touches.
Mitchell has played all 21 games for the Hawks this year, continuing to build a strong midfield combination alongside James Worpel and Jaeger O’Meara while also growing as a strong on-field leader.
