Season summary:
Tom Mitchell capped off another fine season in the brown and gold in 2021, once again nothing record numbers around the ground.
Averaging 34.3 disposals, 4.8 tackles and 4.1 inside 50s per game, Mitchell continued to show his dominance following a strong 2020 campaign where he finished runner-up in the club’s best and fairest.
The former 2017 and 2018 All Australian was crowned the leading ball-getter in the league for 2021, finishing with a total of 754 disposals for the season.
While he was named in the 2021 All Australian 40-man squad, Mitchell was unlucky to secure a place in this year's final team.
The 2018 Brownlow medallist, who has played all 22 games for the Hawks this year, collected 30 or more disposals across 15 games in 2021, and in four games registered above 40 touches.
Best AFL game:
Mitchell’s best game came in Round 21 when he amassed a game-high 44 possessions and a goal to help the Hawks to a 19-point victory over Collingwood.
The 28-year-old used the ball at 84 per cent efficiency, tallying eight clearances and a game-high 12 score involvements.
