Season summary:
Liam Shiels continued his form as one of the Hawks most reliable and durable players in 2021.
He was the sixth-highest ball-getter for the Hawks this season, and his tackle numbers were also once again impressive, with just three of his teammates laying more tackles this year.
The 29-year-old had 13 games where he recorded 20-plus disposals, and missed just one game this season having played a total of 21 matches for the year.
The triple premiership star, who is the longest serving Hawthorn player, also continues to provide significant mentorship and leadership for his younger teammates.
Best AFL game:
Shiels' best game came in Round 7 against St Kilda when he tallied 23 touches, eight tackles and a goal.
How the fans saw him:
I want to see Shiels as a captain. If he's still with us when McEvoy retires or whatever he does Liam should definitely be a captain.
